Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding Signed for the Implementation of the Second Phase of the Comp

On June 1, 2026, the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, KOICA, and Good Neighbors International signed a Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation of the second phase of the Comprehensive Rural Development Project in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The signing of the Memorandum marked an important step in strengthening the partnership aimed at promoting sustainable rural development and improving the well-being of rural communities.

The second phase of the project will be implemented in Osh, Batken, and Jalal-Abad regions and will include support for farmers and agricultural cooperatives, development of rural and logistics infrastructure, expansion of access to microcredit services, and the introduction of modern technologies in the agricultural sector.

The project is a continuation of the first phase, which was successfully implemented from 2021 to 2025. During this period, significant achievements were made in increasing agricultural productivity, developing livestock farming, improving rural infrastructure, and raising the incomes of rural households.

The implementation of the second phase will contribute to the further development of the agro-industrial potential of the regions, strengthen the economic resilience of rural communities, and improve the quality of life of the population.

Youth Voice for Ecology: Eco-Debates Held in Osh Schools

Environmental debates (Eco-Debate) among high school students were successfully held at Secondary School No. 48 (Kerme-Too) and Secondary School No. 45 named after M. Myrzaev in Osh city.

Although for many students this was their first experience participating in debates, from the very beginning they demonstrated great interest, active participation, and sincere engagement in discussing current environmental issues. During the event, participants learned how to express their opinions with arguments, listen to opposing views, work as a team, and collaboratively find solutions.

The eco-debates became an important platform for developing public speaking, critical thinking, leadership, and teamwork skills.

We hope that such initiatives will inspire young people to continue their personal development and participate in future debate tournaments, helping to build an active civic position.

A school teacher from Jalal-Abad region has been recognized as the Teacher of the Year

Elnura Sakabekovna Kadyralieva, Deputy Director for Educational Affairs at Secondary School No. 21 named after Y. Alymbekov in the Abdy-Suerkulov rural municipality of Toktogul district, Jalal-Abad region, continues to inspire her colleagues through her outstanding achievements, professionalism, and dedication to education.

Following the results of 2026, she was awarded the honorary title “Best Teacher of the Year” and received the “Pride of the Nation” badge.

One of her most remarkable achievements was participating in the national “Leader Teacher” competition held on May 7, 2026. Competing among 651 teachers, Elnura Sakabekovna demonstrated excellent results and won an educational trip to Singapore.

Good Neighbors Kyrgyz Republic and KNAU Signed a Memorandum of Cooperation

On May 21, 2026, a meeting was held between the Director of , Cho Sunheng, and the Rector of , Nurzat Ermekovna Totubaeva.

During the meeting, the parties discussed further cooperation, promising areas of joint activities, and the implementation of projects in the fields of agriculture, education, and local community development. Special attention was given to the introduction of innovative agricultural technologies, the development of research activities, and the improvement of farmers’ qualifications.

As a result of the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between and . The memorandum aims to strengthen partnership in the implementation of modern agricultural technologies, cultivation of agricultural crops, including through the IN VITRO scientific and production laboratory, as well as the realization of joint research and educational initiatives.

Following the signing ceremony, representatives of were given a tour of the IN VITRO scientific and production laboratory. During the tour, the laboratory’s achievements were presented, including the cultivation of virus-free potatoes and other agricultural products using modern biotechnologies.

It is worth noting that this year , together with the university, is implementing a pilot project on growing virus-free seedlings in the village of in the .

The parties expressed confidence that this cooperation will contribute to the implementation of sustainable and effective projects aimed at the development of agriculture and the support of farmers in .
