School water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) seminar for the southern regions.
On September 4, in the city of Osh, the UN World Food Programme (WFP), together with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Good Neighbors Kyrgyz Republic, successfully held a practical seminar on school water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) for school representatives from the southern regions of Kyrgyzstan.
The seminar in Osh was a continuation of the initiative launched on August 28 in Bishkek, bringing together school principals, teachers, and representatives of school health and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) committees from Osh, Jalal-Abad, and Batken regions.
The key highlight of the seminar was the distribution of practical guidelines and information-educational materials (booklets and posters) to school administrations on implementing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) measures.

From May 16 to 18, 2026, a practical training on “Developing Practical Beekeeping Skills in Real Conditions with a Focus on Effective Bee Colony Management and Maintaining Hive Health” was held in the villages of Bel-Aldy, Sary-Sogot, and Korgon.
The training was organized for local beekeepers to enhance their professional knowledge and develop practical skills necessary for successful beekeeping operations. The training was conducted by Muzaffer Yusupov, an experienced beekeeping expert from TES CENTRE, who has dedicated more than 40 years of his professional career to this field.
Over the course of three days, participants refreshed their existing knowledge, learned about modern approaches to bee colony management and disease prevention, and discussed methods for increasing apiary productivity. Special attention was given to the practical aspects of hive maintenance and effective beekeeping management.
The final day of the training took place directly at a local apiary, where participants had the opportunity to apply their newly acquired knowledge under the guidance of the expert. This hands-on learning format enabled beekeepers not only to reinforce theoretical concepts but also to receive answers to practical questions arising in their daily work.
We hope that the knowledge and skills gained through this training will help participants improve the efficiency of their operations, prevent potential losses, and increase the income of their households. A face-to-face preparatory session was held at A. Tokombaev School Complex in Kamyshanovka village, Kok-Chu Community Development Project (CDP), as part of the Global Youth Network (GYN) program. Students received orientation and preparation for upcoming exchange activities and actively participated in the first sessions of the program. During the meeting, participants introduced themselves, shared information about their schools and interests, and actively engaged in communication and experience-sharing activities.
Global Youth Network is an international program of Good Neighbors International that brings together children and young people from different countries to promote global citizenship, leadership, and social responsibility. The project aims to increase awareness of global challenges and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while developing collaboration, communication, and active civic engagement skills among youth.
Participants will take part in a series of training sessions and practical activities designed to strengthen their understanding of global issues and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as to develop leadership, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
Through participation in the program, students are expected to expand their knowledge of global challenges, enhance their communication, teamwork, and leadership skills, and become more active contributors to addressing issues within their communities.
