The Director of Good Neighbors Kyrgyz Republic visited community development projects in Toktogul Di

On 12–13 March 2026, the Director of Good Neighbors Kyrgyz Republic Cho Soonhyoung conducted a working visit to the villages of Bel-Aldy, Uch-Terek, and Kotormo in Toktogul District to review the results of implemented projects and ongoing initiatives aimed at community development.

During the visit, a meeting was held with the First Deputy Akim of Toktogul District, Asanov Askat Tashtemirovich. The parties discussed the results of joint work over the past year, prospects for further cooperation, and the sustainability of projects implemented through co-funding with the participation of local communities and local self-government bodies.

At Secondary School No. 30 named after K. Toktoraliev in Uch-Terek village, the Director reviewed the kitchen equipment installed under the “Healthy Nutrition” project, aimed at improving school feeding conditions and sanitation infrastructure. Attention was also given to the Girls Friendly Toilets project, which is currently nearing completion.

In Bel-Aldy village, the Director visited Mukash Zhamgyrkanov School, where an IT classroom was established and interactive boards were installed through a co-funded project. During the visit, students demonstrated how they use digital equipment in their daily learning process. The introduction of modern technologies contributes to the development of students’ digital skills and expands their educational opportunities.

In Kotormo village, the Director visited a kindergarten established through the joint efforts of the Abdy Suerkulov Aiyl Okmotu and Good Neighbors Kyrgyz Republic. During the visit, issues related to the sustainability and further development of early childhood education services were discussed.

Overall, the visit confirmed the positive impact of projects implemented with active participation of local communities and highlighted the importance of partnership between residents, local self-government bodies, and Good Neighbors Kyrgyz Republic for sustainable regional development.

As part of the International Children's Day celebration, a festive event was held in the Kok-Chu Community Development Project (CDP) in Chuy Region. The event was organized by Good Neighbors Kyrgyz Republic in partnership with local self-government authorities and community representatives.

The event program was developed based on the results of the community needs assessment and focus group discussions, which identified children's need for greater opportunities to develop STEAM skills as well as access to interactive educational resources. In response to these identified needs, a program combining educational and recreational activities was designed.

During the celebration, children actively participated in educational and creative games provided by Good Neighbors. These activities helped develop logical thinking, creativity, communication skills, teamwork, and a practical approach to learning. The event format enabled children not only to enjoy the celebration but also to gain new knowledge and skills through engaging and educational activities.

The successful implementation of the event demonstrated the importance of partnership among local self-government authorities, local communities, and Good Neighbors in creating an enabling environment for children's development and expanding their access to quality educational and developmental opportunities.

International Children's Day brought together families and the Japalak community

On June 1, 2026, a festive event dedicated to International Children's Day was organized jointly with the Japalak Ayil Okmotu and the Department of Culture.

The celebration brought together children, parents, representatives of local authorities, and community members, creating an atmosphere of joy, creativity, and unity.

As part of the event, 120 children received gifts provided by Good Neighbors. In addition, the Japalak Ayil Okmotu organized and distributed ice cream to the children, adding even more joy to the celebration.

A rich cultural and entertainment program was prepared for the young guests. Children actively participated in games and competitions while showcasing their talents through musical, dance, and creative performances.

Particular attention was drawn to performances featuring elements of Kyrgyz national culture and Korean traditions, as well as a Taekwondo demonstration.

The celebration provided children with an opportunity to express their creativity, and many of them confidently demonstrated their talents while receiving warm support from the audience. Their vibrant performances created an unforgettable atmosphere and left guests with lasting positive impressions.
